Exactly!!  No sign of them leaving yet.  The larvae don't fly and can eat huge quantities. Try the Green Gardener for prices.

Had the same problem on roses.  Purchased some adult and ladybird larvae at the end of last week.  They are now munching their way through a feast and the roses are beginning to look happier.  Also looks as though adults are mating so should have an ongoing supply of larvae!  Did the same last year - poured with rain the night after applying so was not succsessful.

Haven't got pic of whole plant when seen. leaves looked smaller than other laurels I've seen and darker green.  Whole plants were about 5' - 6' high and 3' - 4' across. not totally upright - some slightly drooping stems. Flower spikes about 6".  Have Googled but I can't see one that looks the same

wild flowers from seed

Last year I sowed countless seeds from a specialist firm to little avail, .eventually I decided that as well as poor weather the birds we having a feast so I covered with fleece until they had germinated and got established.  Didnt have much growth or any flowers. Decided not to cut down in the Autumn and just left.  This year they are great and we have at least 9 or 10 different species in flower at the moment.  So - just don't give up on them.

Can anyone tell me what this is please? Expect it is common. Seen used as a fairly dense evergreen hedge.  Flower spikes very frangrant in May.

What a "blooming June"!
