You lucky people!  I have tried everything to attract goldfinches but they just don't seem to live around here. Almost every other usual species visit but not them .

I put up a little niger seed feeder and in the end took it down as they went mouldy and even started sprouting.  Have grown teasel for several years too and we did have one visit but they must have been "passing through".

Lets hear it for the houseplants.

Let's hear it for the houseplants  - lovely pics too.  If it's not a sunny day (and when I remember) the houseplants have a day trip to the conservatory to get some extra light!

This all sounds sadly familiar but on a positive note our garden sparrow population has started to increase over the past 2-3 years so fingers crossed it will continue.

Morning all or Bore Da as we're multi-lingual on here now .  I don't often visit in the morning but its such an awful day I cant go out to play  so have come to have coffee with you all.

If we need to rescue Jean can you arrange outfits for us please Geofredo?

Reading about muchas gracias" reminded me of a favourite saying of my late MIL - will leave out the vowels so as not to cause offence - Muchas Gracias p*n*s (translated as Thanks a Lot c*ck)

Glyn - you've started me off now with Follyfoot  "Down in the meadow where the wind blows free, in the middle of a field stands a lightning tree ....."

What's for tea?

Busy day working in my mother's garden and later my own so only just had enough energy left to make a quick spaghetti bolognese.

Hi Dean - you're allowed to watched Remembrance Parade as it doesn't really count as watching TV.  Tell us who did the correct salute please.

HI everyone, lots of posts to catch up on today!  By the time I get to the end I have forgotten all the things I wanted to say - maybe I need to make notes as I go along.

Most importantly, Jess is better .  It's great the way kids bounce back so quickly after they've been ill.

Chris I have been to see Les Mis and I think it's definitely "one of the best" - very emotional so take plenty of tissues .  It's quite a long show too - maybe take some snacks.

Hope you've all enjoyed a lovely sunny day.

Thanks Verdun, it would be nice to have something that has a different autumn colour.  I usually find plenty of self seeded primulas around the garden so could move some of those there as well.

Evening Dean, Dan & Bev.  Flo - love your little dog.  BJay - glad your still enjoying your compost

Tootsie - glad you seem back to normal

Enjoyed Strictly tonight but Fern Britten did remind me so much of Bridget Jones.
