Sorry to hear about that Dean  - some people just don't care what they do .

Inkadog - hope Blue was OK.  We used to give our elderly arthritic dog cod liver oil tablets which he practically begged for and enjoyed chewing them.  Couldn't get him to take anything else!

Looking forward to Strictly tonight and tomorrow. Made some Welshcakes this afternoon and not many left now ...

Hi all - thanks for all your welcoming messages

Just a warning to Gary - after you've eaten asparagus your pee smells awful

Inkadog - you live in the most beautiful place.  I loved all those little islands when we went on the ferry to Vancouver Island and thought how fabulous it would be to live there.

Geoff - you are so quick with your replies to everything - you really make me laugh.

Do I spot a few fellow cakeaholics here?

Just been reading in the Daily Mail “Simon Cowell treats himself to sheep placenta facials in a bid to look younger than his years - that's unbaaalievable!”  Think I'd prefer to look my age

Christopher - do you think seaweed would help improve my clay soil too?

Does anyone else feel delighted when checking their bag/pile of last autumn's leaves and finding such lovely leaf mould and enjoy putting it on the beds/borders?  Non-gardening friends find me very strange but I'm sure I'm not alone.

Thanks guys - I've only been "eavesdropping"  in here for a couple of days but you all sound so much fun. Don't feel so guilty now

Thanks for microwave info Inkadog.  I've had old microwave stored in the shed for ages and keep meaning to try and find out more details before zapping away! After reading your earlier post where you mentioned arbutus leaves I looked at your profile and see you are in Canada.  My son went to Pearson College on Vancouver Island (10 years ago) and we went out to see him there and absolutely loved the place.  He did a sort of work placement in Tofino with the Friends of Clayoquat Sound and had a wonderful time.  Just wondered if you lived anywhere near there.

Apologies if I'm being too nosey.

Am I posting too much?

Great idea joslow!  I was just thinking how much I have learned since joining this forum 2 weeks ago and only half of it is related to gardening   Keep posting everyone!

Just a thought - maybe the Bumblebee Conservation Trust  can help.

Thanks for the RHS link Alina. I didn't realise that the roots of maples in pots are vulnerable to frost over winter.  It suggests wrapping containers with a sheet of bubble wrap, held in place with garden twine.  Easy to do and well worth doing.
