Taxus fastigiata 'David'

Posted: 08/09/2015 at 12:37

Can anyone tell me if taxusfastigiata 'David' is a male or female form, ie. will it have berries at all? Also does it stay fairly narrow left to its own devices?

Thanks for the answers, decision made. I'll plant them out as they are now and maybe collect the seed for sowing myself as I have very clay soil and nothing seems to self seed in my garden.

Honesty

I grew some Honesty plants from seed last year and I haven't yet got them in the ground but they have started flowering in their pots. I would now like to plant them in a wildish grassy area but they are a bit spindly, if I trimmed the plants back and removed the flowers would they flower again soon or would I be better just enjoying the flowers they have now?

Box Blight

I have 2 columnular Japanese holly in pots by my front door and I keep getting die back. It looks very similar to box blight but I thought that could only affect box. I have treated for vine weavil and it doesn't seem to have helped but very occasionally I spot a tiny caterpillar wrapped up in a leaf, has anyone got any ideas?
