Slug pellets

I've been using the slug gone/sheeps wool pellets - they seem to work on hostas and clematis - but they don't go very far

Need help identifying a few plants

Posted: 31/05/2014 at 23:37

Hi Sara - 2 looks like a mahonia and 3 are hellebore leaves - both work keeping, although you will have to wait til next winter/early spring to see them in their full glory

Not sure what 1 is, but looks cultivated (ie not a weed) so worth keeping for a year to see what it does to earn its keep.

Good luck with your new garden .....exciting times

Pink ones are papavers - oriental poppies - they take a few years to get going in my patch (by which time i have lost the label - but think this one is MrsP?!?*#??) but then they are here to stay.  Like so many things in the garden, patience eventually pays off .... Wish i had more of it

Clematis (again!) Help?

Very pretty Sara - my first stop when trying to identify clematis is the Taylors site - search by Group 2 pruning to narrow it down a bit
