Morning all Porridge here too (sorry Yvie !) - no honey, but a sprinkling of flax seeds and raisins

Got a day off today - taking Chicklet for a girlie shopping trip, before she returns to Uni at the weekend.  Its been so lovely having her around again - going to have to get used to missing her all over again So a day of coffee, cake and chatter, with a few shops thrown in, seems a good way to make the most of the last days of her hols

I've got quite a steep bank I'm not sure what to do with ......about 12foot high and sloping sharply.  Would love some ideas. Thanks

Morning all

Decs down for me today. Going out to the theatre tonight, so I won't have to look at the emptiness of it all

Glad your op has made a difference Flowers, and fingers crossed mini-Yvie manages to get her house move back on track.

It was me that said the evenings are lighter - not getting dark til about 4.45 here now - baby steps.  i know it happens every year, with scientific regularity, but it still comes as a pleasant surprise for me. Little things

Morning all

Not been this early for a while.  Littlest chicklet back at college today, so the usual commuting routine begins again in earnest.  Have noticed the nights pulling out already, but it will be a while before the mornings start to get lighter.

Great to hear Mr Yvie's op went well - here's to a speedy recovery

I stick wooden kebab sticks as stakes - cut them to shorter than the flower spike and put them close to the bulb, but without skewering it .....they get hidden by all the flowers

Best get a wriggle on ......

But on a more positive note - my Chiltern seed catalogue has just arrived - so hours of fun await choosing what to try this year.  i must remember that I only have 14 mini propagators and limited windowsill space

If they could take their words back.

Lovely news Verdun - will that make you a GUV ? (Grt Uncle V). My girls had a GAM and a GUB, names that stuck for years

Had a good (if somewhat soggy) day with family ... Got a bit of sunshine in time for the obligatory woofer walk this afternoon. Amazed to see camellias blooming down there on the south coast.

Hope all goes well for Mr Yvie tomorrow
