Sibirica is a very vibrant red - i don't think any of the cornus grown for stem colour grow too big, as you coppice them so regularly to keep the stems young and colourful.

I'd donate them Dove, but I fear it would lead to domestic strife ...... he said it would be like selling one of the children.

Fairy - Elka is like tete a tete - so will go towards the front, with Thalia nearer the back.  will keep them well away from the yellow ones - separate bed, round a corner.  Don't want them mixing with the hoi polloi

Matty - those pictures look like paintings - especially the first and third.  those impressionists could certainly capture the essence of a place.

here are some from a visit to Beth Chattos mid October.  The grasses and some of the borders still looked great, but it has whetted my appetite to go back in summer next year, to see it in full fettle.

HELLO FORKERS!

Morning

Winds must have been focusing on Scotland last night - all calm here.  Will have a lazy morning and then a walk at a local NT place - lots of trees and lakes - should be nice at this time of year.

forgot to mention that I'm go to try some white daffs this year - got some Thalia and Elka for a bed at the back of the house.  Hoping they will look super sophisticated

And spurred on by pDoc's success, I will fill in my Wimbledon public ballot form today too
