Creosote - Which one and the best technique?

I use the current 'substitute' creosote that I get from our local ironmonger - can't remember the name right now and it's dark out there but will get the name and post back. Love the smell which it still retains. i use a brush but I must be a masochist 'cos it takes ages to do (now on its last legs) hurdle fencing....

I also get random crocuses and snowdrops popping up everywhere. Last summer I found an iris in a bed where I definitely didn't have any irises. I potted it up and its now got loads of leaves - can't wait to see what colour it turns out to be but I didn't know they could spread by seed?

Flowers we don't like?

Not a huge fan of cut flowers either - I prefer mine growing in the garden, On the rare occasion OH buys me some though they do acquire a certain charm

We've not had any rain to count since 13.02.13.I have loads and loads of stuff in pots and watered this afternoon cos everything was feeling a bit dry. This is after the garden being under water for months during winter. That's why we got a rain gauge basically - because it is so easy to forget about winter drying out!
