can I plant now?

Posted: 12/12/2012 at 19:57

My stepson was for a brief while running a gardening business but now he's moved on to pastures new...

For a couple of years I have been plant-sitting for him some chilean guava plants (in pots) and a load of of now 2 year old cuttings he took but these have now officially been gifted to me. I am planning on creating a hedged area with these next year. Even tho' in pots they have been flowering and fruiting prolifically. The fruits really are delicious!

Don't know if these are cheap to buy but here's some info:

They are as tough as old boots! Good luck, Janet

Hi Chris

If this is the plant you mean maybe this will help - do you have a specific problem with yours?

All I want for Christmas is...

For me it's got to be time!

christmas tree

Posted: 03/12/2012 at 19:12

We have recently freecycled our living potted xmas tree after having enjoyed it for 6 years. It really needed growing on in the ground which was something we personally did not want to do. It went to a good home and now we have a new one which we will keep, potting on each year as required, until it too I hope will find a grateful new  home elsewhere when we are no longer able to accommodate it.

When are those Xmas smileys going to be available?

HELP... Hundreds of strange eggs on my lawn and soil?

Call me cynical but the first pic reminded me of the 'unknown berries' in this thread which were never identified...

Is this some kind of alien invasion?

Hello again

Please ignore my last message as I have for the first time this evening read your thread about car tyre planters and see you are well aware of freecycle! Good luck still!

Free plants

Hi Gardengirl

Not sure this is the right forum to ask for free plants as people post from all over the world! And it's probably a bit much to expect people to pay to post plants to you!

You could try joining your local Freecycle group as I often see plants offered on there. Good luck.

Ditto Berghill exactly, I'm down a lane too. I have to do the same. re; collecting rubbish. I'm not complainining about my council tax at all - just like to keep my side of the street clean! As for dumped tyres, If they have been on our land I just pass them on to a friendly local company who doesn't charge us for disposing of them......

We have a log pile for burning too, otherwise it's onto the bonfire heap. I do love a good bonfire (when the wind is in the right direction and there is absolutely no chance of it blowing over neighbours' gardens!
