Rhyncospermum Jasminoides

I have recently bought one of the above and was thinking of putting in a planter in front of a wooden fence panel. Searches suggest it can grow to anything from 3 metres to 6 metres (currently about 1 metre). Will it need serous staking? Also hardiness seems to vary on different sites - I'm in Hampshire? Any advice gratefully received as I love this plant and want to do my best for it! Thanks, Janet

I agree - don't lose it all! You can eat the leaves/flowers when young - they have a cucmber taste. I keep mine because the bees absolutley love it.

Well borage has 5 pointed blue, flowers, self seeds prolifically and is hairy/bristly but I'm not sure about the penetrating gardening gloves bit?

My hardneck garlic is falling over

So Welshonion sounds like you are saying I can leave the leaves on and dry as normal - and plait them? thanks

My hardneck garlic is falling over

I lifted my garlic yesterday because they had rust and were also falling over. Howerver, I am delighted to report that they are all a decent size, firm and actually have formed proper cloves this year and don't resemble overssized marbles!

I put them in the conservayory last night but frankly the garlicky smell is quite overwhelming (I do adore garlic) so was thinking of putting them in the garage. However since I have not had rust before I don't know whether to remove the leaves now -  could the rust still affect the bulbs? Or can I still leave them on? Thanks, Janet

My local branch of The Works is selling packets of Mr Fothergills vegetable and flower seeds at 4 for a pound. Sow by dates seem to range from 2012 to 2014. Just got myself some and will be going back for more!
