I have Leycesteria formosa  but didn't know it as Pheasant Berry - I call mine himalayan honeysuckle! It can grow a lot in a year - mine foms a short tunnel once through an arch in a hazel hedge. Mine doesn't seem to mind hard pruning to keep it in check

Hi Jean - I grow my Aristotle from seed but if you google it you can but plugs for instant effect.

My favourite basil at the mo is Aristotle - tiny leaves so you don't need to break/chop it!

Strange aubergine plant

One of my aubergine plants is growing funny things:

They look like stems of plantain but I have looked really hard and there are only aubergine leaves! Picture 3 shows one of these stalks growing from the base of the plant. Any ideas? Thanks, Janet
