My horrible clay soil has just become OK after a lot of additions of grit and organic matter. Each year I put on a mulch of compost and it does seem to help, the fine grit I have dug in to the soil. Good luck!

Hi, I have had a lot of success with bulbs- daffodils, hyacinths and tulips bought from Wilkinsons and their prices are very good.
Could anyone advise the best treatment for removing quite an infested area of lawn full of buttercups. I have tried manually removing them without much success so may need to resort to chemicals.
Hi Chris, I start mine off in March in terracotta pots in the garage. Planted quite deeply in damp compost. Usually they are fine for planting out in June.
