I have two apple trees and a plum tree on the allotment I recently took over. They are surrounded by grass, weeds and the dreaded horseradish. Is there a weed killer I can use safely without ruining the fruit?
Might just try to sell a few roots.
I have tried digging out the horseradish under my apple and plum trees to no avail. Is it safe to use a weed killer (if there is one for horseradish) now or in early spring?
Thank you. Will pick a load up this week.
I have been offered a quantity of horse manure which is mixed with wood chippings and shavings rather than straw,I have been told not to use this as it takes the nitrogen from the soil to break down the wood. Is this correct please?
Not sure what's happening but it's upside down. Can anyone tell me the name of this plant please? It sits happily outside in a pot all year round on a south facing wall.
I guess they can stay then. I certainly wouldn't want to kill them.
Thanks Busy-Lizzie, but I think I'll let the little fellas live.
I have found mice droppings in my compost bin.
1. can I use the compost?
2. How do I get rid of them?
