Planting Potato for Christmas Day

Posted: 11/07/2012 at 13:38

Is it possible to have new potatos for christmas lunch.  I am thinking about planting potato's in a pot or some form of planter for Christmas is this possible.  I have never grown veg and only this spring I have grown some plants from seeds and so pleased with the result.  I live in the north and the past couple of years we have had snow and ice before Christmas and I have no greenhouse but thinking of getting a plastic one, what do you experts think.

Thanks regards Chris

Hi

I bought the free  Penstemons that  was on offer last week, but not sure what to do, sorry but love a bargain.  Will I need to pot these plants up and keep under cover if so, how long will I need to keep undercover and what time of year do I plant them out.  Also. what compost do I use for potting on.

Sorry to be vague.

Is my Lavender dying

thanks for the advice, I have taken cuttings of the Lavender so will cut back the lavender.  I have English lavender bought at BQ which seems to be the same so will take cuttings of this one also, I think perhaps I should have check the plant before I bought them.

Once again thanks for the replies.

Evergreen Lawn

Hi

Just another question regarding feeding lawns, I used Evergreen Lawn feed without the weedkiller in and as mentioned it seems to be working.  It is nearly two weeks since I used it and everthough the lawn is looking better there still are some pale patches, my question is could I use this lawn feed again next week.  It does say on the packages use regularly well you could say every week is regularly.  What would you suggest.

New lawn

Hi

I have recently asked the same question on a thread 'Evergreen'.  I had the same problem on the thread I was encouraged to mow more often and also used Evergreen Lawn feed the one without weed killer and it seems to be working the grass is gradually turning green and looking healther. There is some great advice on this thread so have alook.  I mowed the lawn today, it has been a great sunny day and waited until the sun had gone down behind the trees, it is looking better so I would say feed it and as I was advised mow regularly, we have started to mow twice a week when weather permitting.

regards Chris
