Hypericum calycinum Rose of Sharon

Posted: 07 May 2012
Overall: At last! I now know what that large shrub is in the garden. Hypericum calycinum. I've not seen it mentioned anywhere that bees go mad for the flowers so it's an important shrub for them. Also the leaves have a most refreshing scent when lightly squeezed. The seed heads are interesting too.

I didn't know it needed pruning to the ground though.

Thanks.
