Broad bean

Posted: 03/07/2013 at 05:51

I have lovely broad beans that are bulking up nicely. However when I have picked a few to taste -yes I can never wait -the small beans seem to be a brownish colour...is this normal.? Will the mature bean be ok?

I just seem to love the idea of a tiny seed coming into life (soppy old thing) and thinking ,,,cor I grew that . Thanks I will try the Lupins. Do you think they will do ok in a cold frame or should I give them some heat in the house?

Ah well, back to rain and quite chilly !!!!  Is it too late to propergate Lupins from some seed I had left from last year? Not necessarily to flower this year but could look after them until next spring to put out.

Thanks

PS I haveDonne the same as always .....sown too many lettuce seeds and now have too many plants and no space left.  Am I the only dork who does that with seeds ?????

Hi has anyone in the Bristol area ever bought a bulk order of compost.? I am always making trips to the garden centre to buy bags . I'm sure there must be a cheaper way but I have nowhere for a loose delivery but could store bags,.

Thanks

Can anyone suggest why my young Tomato plants have brownish spots on lower leaves? The actual plant is looking healthy enough.

Many thanks

My nectarine growing in a pot has had a great deal of flowers but I noticed now some leaves are twisted and tinged red. Could this be a pest of some sort?
