Making Compost

Have you looked into using a waste food digester? I have two Green Johannas from Green Cone and the compost is absolutely superb. My wife and I haven't put out any food waste of any description for the past two years. Cooked and uncooked meat, fish, vegetables, you name it, plus grass clippings, etc. all go into the Johannas.

Dead Daphne

Mine has just died as well. It was only planted last year and started off this spring with masses of flowers. Then the leaves yellowed, wilted, fell off and my daphne is no more.

Have you tried the Square Foot Gardening method? I set up mine two years ago and it's ideal for growing veg in raised beds.

Hello to everyone. This is my first post so I hope I get it right! I retired about two years ago and since then have been using Mel Bartholomew's "Square Foot Gardening" technique, as featured in this month's Gardeners' World magazine. The reults have been very good indeed and hopefully will be even better once I've mastered successional sowing. Are many other people using the SFG technique?
