Hi you should also try  (monkey flower) and it comes in different colours .it grows to about 6 to8 " high in summer and as low as 1/2" in winter and its perennial

Hello Tim  ,First get yourself a good allotment book such as the allotment gardeners hand book by Allen Titchmarsh or something similar and a note book on what you did this year and put into it what worked and what did not .Start with some thing simple like raddish , letuce ,beetroot and so on .

Hi BE VERY CAREFULL where you get your horse manure from some years ago whole allotments where destroyed by a weed killer used to kill weeds in meadow grasses the weedkiller was called Forfront;

I have used Aldi and Lidl seeds for the past number of years with very good results in comparison to other people on my allotment site who have used Sutton's seeds and other brands , why are the big brand named seeds so expensive ,for example Sweetcorn F1 Swift  and Sweet pepper California ,0.79 each ,form Aldi and in my local big walk around hard- wear Store they are €3.99 ,  ripoff the armature gardener
