What's the weather like in your area?

We had glorious sunshine this morning, however I knew it wouldn't last...  Overcast and short bouts of rain all afternoon.  Local Village Fetes saw the forecast & have postponed until September! 

I missed the comment on wholemeal bread for slugs?!  I need all the help I can get, I've even managed to convince my OH to do slug patrols when I'm working away.

I've just been reading about someone who puts short lengths of guttering over lids filled with slug pellets who said it seemed to work, the guttering keeps the rain off and the hedgehog safe, whilst the slugs like the pellets and no mess was mentioned.  I thought I'd deffinitely give it a go - just got to find the guttering or any curved shape that I could use instead.

I use the old method of crushed egg shells - apparently anything that makes rough going for them deters them a little bit, I keep finding just one bite taken out of a raddish - it would seem they don't like them much!

Anyone know whether you can eat sweetpea leaves?  I've mixed my peas and sweetpeas - seemed a good idea at the time.....!
