The description field is optional - it's the short text that appears beneath the thread name in the thread listing pages, such as 'Latest posts' and 'New discussions'. It's intended to provide a little more detail than is given in the thread name, to help other users decide if the thread will be of interest to them.
Hello everyone. We've removed these spam threads - if you find anymore do please use the report facility and we'll take action.
You should now find the speed issues have been resolved. We've been monitoring performance this afternoon and it seems much better. We'll keep an eye on things, though.
As you may have already noted, the problem has now been fixed and it's now possible to reply to posts.
There is temporary problem with the pagination in our project category pages, meaning you cant see the page numbers to navigate between pages. This will be fixed next week, but in the meantime hear is a workaround to enable to see all of the pages within any categories:
When you can see the first page of a category, such as:
You can navigate to the next page in the sequence by typing /2/ at the end, e.g.
Just keep doing that until you reach the last page in the sequence. This will work in any sub-category, such as
Not ideal, I know, but it will enable you to see all the pages in any category until the developers fix this early next week.
We're obviously having some problems today, as the reply function isn't working. My guess is that is caused by the migration to the new server yesterday, which seems to have fixed the speed issues, but something has else has clearly gone awry. Please accept my apologies for this. I'm afraid it's likely to be Monday before this gets attention, but it will be dealt with first thing.
It seems that we're having problems with the server that the site is hosted on. We're in the process of moving the site to another server, which will resolve the performance issues. This is quite a big job, I'm told, which will take a number of hours. So, until the job is complete (the development team is aiming to get it done by late this evening), it's likely that the site will continue to load slowly.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience and annoyance caused, but please be assured the problem is being worked on. Thank you for bearing with us.
There is some development work being done on the site today, which is probably causing the performance issues that you mention. I've passed this on to the tech team, who will do their best to keep the delays to a minimum. Many thanks for letting us know.
