Had a busy week with plants.

I have had deliveries every day for the past 10 days and in total I have 596 plants,

these are all flowers some perennial, some annuals and a few shrubs.

This year I am changing the look of my garden,so should have some good photos when garden is finished.

I have received my plants off two companies one is jparkers who are the best and the other is thompson and morgan but these are very poor young plants.

easy fill

Has anyone got any easy fill hanging baskets?

I have just been to my garden centre and these look great, but at £7.00 each a bit expensive so I came home and searched the internet and found the same ones for £12.99 plus £4.99 delivery but this was for 4.

I did order them after I watched a video about them, and you can get 17 plants into one basket.

I may be wrong but self heal leaves are like tough plastic and the weed killer may not be able to soak into the leaves so you may have to damage the leaves first for the weed killer to work.

I always use round up and if you visit round up site it will tell you what weedkiller to use.

Wooden log edging

I have put down 54 feet of log rolls and I put them down on a a bed of gravel to improve drainage, hopefully this will work but time will tell.

I have purchased top soil for husbands which is based in the north east.

The more you order the cheaper it is.

first ton was about £40.00 but I got ten ton for about £80.00.

The price of compost

I agree with you alan but I bought the one with added john innes and it is a lot better than the verve compost.

If you have mature weeds and want to use a weedpuller best to use it when the soil is damp and it will pull the whole root out.using it on dry soil somethings the roots snapped

I have just purchased bq compost with added john innes and I must say it is great stuff,

I had problems with bq compost last year but this one is great for young plants and seedlings.

very fine and no twigs or lumps.
