What peas are the best

Posted: 13/08/2014 at 18:44

Tell you what peeps, give this one a go and you won't be disappointed....It's an old Victorian variety called 'Ne Plus Ultra'. Needs some sturdy support, as it can grow to 5ft tall.

An excellent pea from every point of view.

Just catching up here.."David K, a typo made you call Bekkie Bikkie, but actually I think that quite suits her so may have to start calling her Bikkie all the time  "

That was a typo, OL....although I do deliberately post words incorrectly spelt at times and never think of using (sic). For instance I rarely  type 'mixed' it's usually 'muxed', I just assume peeps (there I go again) get used to my daft ways.

Growing Roses

Yes, flowerlover, Harkness have been at the forefront of rose growing ever since I've been into roses....'Ena Harkness' is a classic.

I recommended 'Comte de Chambord' here to rosemummy recently.....a lovely pink you may like.

Not sure, bekkie.....I mostly seem to find a lamb shank in front of me when I call.

Aww David that pub looks lovely, I know its summer, but I bet its got a lovely log fire in the winter, great to sit round with friends and a drink

Yes, a real chocolate box jobbie, Lily, and food to die for.

....no, I'm in Staffordshire, OL....but the salt belt must extend south. There are no salt workings these days and haven't been in my time.

I think Cheshire provides most of the salt & grit for the highways over the winter.

As you know there are a lot of salt mines in Cheshire, OL and as it happens a few near to me.....in fact, there is a little village named 'Salt' close by and this is the village pub named 'The Holly Bush'.
