Thats the one David.

My dads first job when he came back from the war was electrifying the railways.

It's a small world, Lyn........spent my entire working life involved in the signalling side of the railways.

I recall a company called 'British Insulated Callender's Cables' laying trackside cables along the West Coast Mainline during the modernisation & electrification in the late 50s/early 60s......Signalling equipment (my side of things) was largely by Westinghouse; an American based company.

Out of curiosity, I googled:   "British Insulated Callender's Cables was formed in 1945 by the merger of two long established cable firms, Callender's Cable & Construction Company Limited and British Insulated Cables. Subsidiaries could trace their roots back to submarine cable manufacturing on the Thames in the 1850s. The company was renamed BICC Ltd in 1975."

Tripped over my own foot and fell flat on my face on the terrace David   It could've been worse - I smashed my face and shoulder on some big flowerpots, but luckily I found the plastic ones and not the big terracotta ones - I could've lost my teeth!

Really sorry to hear this, Dove...bet you're driving him indoors potty!

Aww, Dove....will a hug help? I would imagine for you, this would be a killer.  How did you manage to do that?

I'm thinking of opening an 'Emergency ward 10' thread.

Clarification time, Frank. The 'C' word I had in mind was 'CAKE', hence my remark 'prepare to be inundated'.   I quote: "Been getting texts all day from Daughters then a lovely surprise present from Betty's sent by my sister, a lovely cake which I can now eat thank goodness."

Seems we're not the only ones hereabouts who can bake a cake and several have been known to whip them out on the slightest pretext.

PS. Betty's are exceedingly good cakes.

Took this picture ages ago (may even have posted one similar) I was playing around with a Swarovski crystal butterfly, trying by using a couple of LED lights to enhance those beautiful colours when light passes across its many facets.

PS. You do really need to enlarge this one.

Alan, please forgive me, I hadn't spotted your post when I replied to Frank.

Please accept my best wishes for a speedy recovery....I know (thankfully not from personal experience) the post op period can be very painful.

Good luck.
