Think I agree with you, Lesley......they were far enough offshore not to be obtrusive, but I was rather surprised how many there were.

If you mean the tops are lying flat on the ground......no don't need to do anything and it's nothing to be concerned about.

Visited Wales today (beautiful weather) and couldn't help buying this pink hydrangea as I've never seen one before.

Growing Roses

Pleased to see this thread has been welcomed, though I'm puzzled why Bev hasn't joined in so far.

I hope this thread will enable like-minded people to pool their knowledge and better our understanding of rose growing.

For myself, I can say that in my many years of gardening I have specialised in growing & showing just two species of flowers.....those are of course sweet peas & roses.

I have grown mammoth onions and stuff like that, just for the fun of it & the competition.... but that was never a serious passion.

Good luck to the thread.....I'm really impressed by the pics I've seen so far.

GW live. What to expect?

Don't visit GW Live anymore (reasons unimportant) but having regard to where you live & transport issues, I would instead visit Shrewsbury Flower Show in August.......a really good family day out with lots to see & do besides gardening.
