Hi all

i have had a cox orange pippin dwarf tree for a couple of years now, last year we got some apples that did not get to full size so I was expecting this years to be great.  In spring things looked very promising, lots of blossom but this changed very quickly and now it looms a shadow of its former self.  I have attached lots of pics, can anyone tell me what i can do to revive it please??  I do also have a laxtons superb tree in the same soil a few metres away and that is doing brilliantly So i am stumped....???

Advice with a clear exterior wood varnish to protect cut logs please??

Thanks for the replies folks, I was kicking myself when I read the word preservative as I just couldn't think of the word when I wrote last reply.

I shall look for some of the ronseal clear as I find their products fairly reliable.

Cheers Again!

Hi there, thanks a lot for taking the time to reply.  We were hoping to keep the logs just as their natural colour so wanted to use a clear sealant, is there such a thing as exterior clear stain/sealant please?

Hi All

We are doing up our front garden and instead of paving it we have got hold of a whole tree trunk which we have had cut into log discs, dried out and we are going to use these as circle patterns instead of paving stones.

To ensure these logs last a good while I want to protect them using a varnish or treatment of somekind, can anyone recommend some clear wood varnish that would do a good job of this please?   I am not working so cannot afford mega expensive stuff, maybe £30 max if poss.

Many Thanks in advance for any help! Hope you have all had a lovely bank holiday weekend.

Advice on small plant for our bathroom please?

Posted: 27/11/2013 at 20:53

Hi all

We would like a plant for our bathroom windowsill and have a small container (tiny french bucket) that we would like to plant it in. Can anyone recommend something fairly small, container is only about 6" x 6" so the plant would need to not grow much, it would need to put up with only a small amount of light and obviously condensation and heat that come with bathroom.

any suggestions peeps please?
