What is your weather like? (2)

Woke up this morning to snow. Hopefully the sun will melt it all away soon. Spring where have you go gone! After all the heat last week this snow is a bit of a shock

Same here Obelixx, lovely day in Cheshire apart from a cold wind. We had a lovely walk along the canal and saw many spring flowers out in bloom. We watched Swallows and House Martins sweeping over the water as they fed on insects. Forecast to be much colder tomorrow, brrr!

A nice day here in Cheshire and warmer than forecast. I am off to Spain in a week's time and wondering what to do with my tender plants. That is the problem with early holidays. Most of my greenhouse plants will survive better in the house I think.

Composting moss

Well gardening is all about being patient. The birds are doing a bit of moss gathering this time of the year so they help a bit. Leaves will rot down a bit quicker in a plastic bag with a few holes punched in it But if you have a large garden you don't have to worry about piles of stuff around the place.

Lovely day here too Marion in Cheshire. Planted out my early potatoes, broad beans and the last of my beetroot seedlings. Isn't it great to see the spring sunshine? It makes us feel that Spring has really arrived at last. Still cold in the mornings though! Gardeners' World on tonight, now that's a cheerful thought.

I was so interested in the subject of the Andromeda gardens in Barbados featured on Gardeners'World as my daughter-in-law is a Bajan girl and has taken me and my OH around some of the lovely gardens of Barbados on our holidays there. We haven't been to that one featured on Gardeners' World so that is for the next time!  It is true that the flowers we grow here in the UK grow much larger in the Caribbean climate. I remember seeing plants that we grow as house plants growing huge in their lovely gardens.

Arrival of frogspawn

I now know Spring is really on the way as I spotted frog spawn in my pond. Once again my clever frogs have laid it on top of the heron net, which is submerged in water so it is safe from my goldfish. I just might separate some of the taddies when they hatch and put them in a separate container to allow them to grow into frogs.

I had to venture out to our doctor's surgery today and there were several trees down in the road. I managed to get there by going a long way round on the main roads. I hope no one gets hurt or killed in these terrible conditions. I echo Marion's words, stay safe all.

Your daffodils are way ahead of mine Marion which goes to show how much warmer it is down in Bristol than here in Cheshire. Not to worry, our turn will come for us in the North!

Lovely photos Marion. I have been to that Rococo garden you mentioned, very beautiful. I managed a hour in the garden today and got OH to cut all the new growth around the Bluetits nesting box. They like a clear flight path for their babies and I expect they will be house hunting soon!

Goldfish with feelings!

I wouldn't believe this if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.
