What is your weather like? (2)

GD, my inbox tells me that you have sent me a message but I'm afraid I can't access it for some reason.

Calm day here in the north west, not too cold and nice and dry. We haven't had rain for a while, unusual for this part of the country. I expect I speak too soon.

I am surprised that you do get a frost at all GD surrounded by sea as you are. My OH was brought up on Anglesey and he doesn't remember ever having a frost.

very hard frost here in Cheshire but the temperatures quickly rose as clouds rolled in. Not a bad day though and I enjoyed a trip to our local garden centre.

Johnny, that city scape looks wonderful. Your birds are very tame and I expect they are very hungry this time of the year with everywhere covered in snow.

It's been a wet and dark day today and I have started with a chesty cold. Oh dear! I should be going out tonight but I had better give the occasion a miss.

Never mind the forcast is better tomorrow so perhaps a visit to our local garden centre will cheer me up

Thank you for your reply GD. You live in a lovely part of the world and clearly have better weather than most of us here on the mainland. I did read that we'd need a private health scheme when we visit which did puzzle me. 🙄

Johnny Canoe would think that 9 degrees was balmy GD.  Even I think that is a lot warmer than here in the north west of the mainland UK. Am I right in thinking that Guernsey is not part of the UK? I am always unsure about the Channel Islands.

Thomas Hood was obviously having a bad day when he wrote that poem. I had a lovely run out yesterday to visit friends and the trees looked wonderful. People were out running or taking their dog for a walk and it did look cheerful all around. The dark nights are gloomy I know but hey we are still alive and morning does arrive!

Hello Tin pot,

I would have thought your newly planted shrubs would only needed a good soaking when planted this time of the year when it is so damp anyway. Just key an eye on them for a bit until established.😊

We had our first frost here in Cheshire so I expect the frogs have taken to the pond so I am glad that I cleaned it out a few days ago. The bird feeders are popular again and today is a sparkling, cold sunny day.
