100 year old indoor GrapeVine

Posted: 05/03/2017 at 19:07

Wow I didn't realise a grape vine could live so long.  I agree about the plant needing better ventilation, I have 3 growing up a pergola outside (Cheshire).  We haven't had problems with mould but I do agree they need a lot of attention.  Your grapes look so big (excuse the expression)! - 2 year2 ago we must have cut off about 200 little bunches to increase the size of the remainder which still didn't make much difference.  We have now settled for the look and canopy of the leaves which are huge and cover the whole pergula.

Last weeks storm counrty round up

I'm in the North West (Cheshire) and quite high above sea level.  Although we didn't get any flooding in the area everywhere was quite saturated and the wind has taken its toll.

I have a wooden cold frame which has been lifted up twice by the wind and twisted causing damage to the frame.  Has anybody any suggestions on how I could secure this to the ground ?.  There is no flooring on the bottom of the frame.  I have tried putting stones on the selves to help weigh it down but we have had strong winds!

Has anyone seen this for saleanywhere recently?

Many thanks, Debbie

Talkback: Greenhouse fund

I was so excited when I collected a  2nd hand octagonal greenhous from an older lady who could no longer look after it.  My husband and I gently took it all apart to transport home but also noticed how a lot of wood will need replacing.  Does anybody know a suppliers where I can purchase spare parts - wood and screws.

Thank you debbie
