Colourful plants to put in large plant pots/urns

I always start with one tall grass in the middle of the pot,usually a  deep purple variety, then put in sweet potato  vines chartreuse and blackie ,and change out the fill plants with the seasons.I even add small gourds and pumpkins in the fall.Things that thrill, things that fill and things that spill .

Thank you David ,. I watered them and it has been very cold here at night They are doing great I never thought a plant could take the cold weather like sweet peas do. I placed a red giant mustard plant in the cold frame also, it seems to have more tender leaves and wilts when its too cold ,I could  then cover it with a blanket as not to get too much of a deep freeze. Hi David, My sweet peas have sprouted! Its 10c in the garage .I moved them under grow lights, how long should I keep them inside ,they have no leaves yet. It is cold here and would like to know what temp it should be to put them in a cold frame. thanks   Debra

I did get out, evetually,one nice man and his girl friend dug us out and pulled with his truck.I got his address and plan on sending him a gift card for a nice meal.I would have rather been sitting in the greenhouse with the rain,drumming planting seeds ,it does sound so cozy and peaceful.

I too saw a flock of geese flying over head yesterday, whilst stuck in my truck in 3 feet of snow and still not a plow in sight ! Not one person stopped to help,thats new york for you.Oh spring where are you.I want to be in the garden.
