I have a huge hidcote which is 18 years old....last year I pruned it as usual in August....but I was wondering if I should cut back in Spring as it went a little woody and didnt green up until June time????? Yes maybe I cut back too hard...dont think so though...advice appreciated. x
Its a magnolia as in any magnolia...it is 3/4 foot high and I bought it 3 years ago in a garden centre...tag said Blue magnolia...flowers are blue in bud and turn yellow when opening...thats about all I remember the tag said.
I planted a Blue magnolia 2 years ago it has not flowered at all and has only shooted two leaves, I have dug it up and potted it in compost and put it in a sheltered spot...any advice on why it hasn't
thrived and what I can do to help it on its way please?
sorry only just seen your message...send a pic of your plot...conifers prefer acid soil, but not that fussed as they are hardy little things....gravel? we use granite in white/grey buy online in bulk x
