cortaderia selloana splendid star

have just bought this plant,(cortaderia sellana 'splendid star') lable discribes it as a low pampas  grass,growing to 70cm. This i can manage, but have just looked it up on line and they say it gets to about 120cm nearly twice the size. Has any one grow this out there please need some advice, as am changing boarder around tomorrow so needed to know whereto put it

Have just joined this gardeners club, you all sound like you're just down the  road, well some of you might be.

Sun is shinning here in Kent. Dog is looking forlawn,most take her out. Then i am going to tackle my shadey spring boarder.Got piles of manure to put on it . It's been a bit negleated theses last few years. 

Aftercare of geums

Ihave had my geums for years, Mrs Bradshaw i think, dark red. Ialways thought they flowered quite well in mid spring, not all summer,they flowered a little bit this year, and they haven't reproduced at all. Think i most feed them more. Chichen pellets seem a good bet.Thank you budlea63. Can i get them from any garden centre

We havve a two year old rhubarb plant which my husband cuts and cooks all summer. Does this sound right. i only thought it would be in the spring.

I saw the same artical. didn't match up with anything though.so have cut it down and wait till next year. see if same thing happens again.

Any one go a friendly hedgehog. One used to visit quite often but haven't seen it for ages

Thank you all for your replies. Hope it is just slugs and not vine  weival. My garden has been a wash with slugs as well. Just didn't think they would eat shrub leaves.

This is the third Sambucus that i have planted. First a lovely golden one. We had it for many years till it out grew it's space. Second and third plants where the black varitty. Ihave had them now for two years and both seasons something has eaten the leaves. The leaves open then latter in the year about July time they are all nibbled.. No sign of caerpillars etc .Any ideas please.
