I'll give it a good haircut in a few weeks in case some flowers appear . Thank you all.

Why have I not had a single flower on either of my forsythia bushes this year. They both had their usual prune after blooming well last year. Could it be the birds eating the buds?

After nurturing last year's bulb for twelve months I was delighted to see a flower bud emerging. I have never managed to get one to flower twice before. Sadly the dog ran past it with a toy in his mouth and broke the three inch bud stem off. I was devastated and can see green appearing now but it looks like leaves. Is there a chance of another flower stem this year?

I have not logged on for a while and thought I'd update my scrapbook with cuttings about the new plants I've bought recently. But when I get the plant info on screen there does not seem to be  a way of saving it to my scrapbook like there used to be. Can anyone advise me please? I always found it very useful to just click on my plant pictures for advice and info.

Help needed for pot bound Camellia

Many thanks. I planted it in the garden in October and it is looking very happy. In fact it seems to have grown already and is covered in fat buds, so I'm very happy.

I have a pot bound one as well but I'm worried about planting it in our clay soil. Any tips folks?

Yes clay is a nuisance in the winter months, but it does have it's good side as well. It is great for trees and shrubs, and it holds nutrients very well. Over time I've learnt by trial and error what grows best in this type of soil, and it's rewarding to see improvement over the years by adding organic matter, grit etc. There's lots of advice on web pages. Good Luck!

Also did you plant them deep enough? I've replanted some of my blind ones about 4 inches deep and this time they've flowered. Maybe mine needed a years rest, but I think they were too shallow.
