In the Green

Posted: 19/03/2013 at 10:24

I dont have snowdrops as yet but will put some in this year. There is a small housing complex down the road from me who have loads of snowdrops growing under a stunning magnolia tree. They are all sround the base of the tree and in april the maintenance guys start to mow the lawn regularly and the snowdrops come back each year (not experience just observation). I will put mine under a Salix caprea tree along with some ferns.

Hi All,

I know this is all a bit sad compared to some of the pics posted but wanted to update a couple of things.

Here is the new pic of the Rose campion seeds that Lyn sent me this is just 3 weeks after the last pic I posted

And here is my very spritely everbloom lilac which arrived as just a twig 2 weeks ago with no leaves whatsoever.

I saw Monty in a video say that they should be pruned right back once planted. Also that you should plant them deeper than the origional planting level.

My delphiniums are up (along with some others) they were starting to go a bit yellow on the leaves, I think I must be overwatering them..
