Just an update here, I picked up a standard rose today. Off to plant it soon, will post pics at a later stage.

Rooting Rose cuttings?

I took a cutting (when pruning) from a rose back in January (when the weather was warmer). Its been in my coldframe ever since and is now sprouting really well. Its got a full side shoot which was just a bud when potted up. I hope its the same as the rose it was taken from.

On another note,

I bought a standard rose today and just for clarification, I should plant it now?

Does anyone know an easy way to spot the difference between foxgloves and comfrey?

 This photo is one I took this morning (before it started snowing). One is a foxglove and the other is a comfrey. I know which one of these is which (foxglove was removed from my coldframe for this picture) but in the garden I can't tell the difference.

I have to say that by comparrison the waitrose plants look like good value when compared to local garden centres.

Mines the same, the one from last year isn't showing any signs of new growth. I don't know if its dead or not. Glad I sowed some seeds from it last year.
