Thats the trouble Red dahlia, sleepers used to be cheap as chips until they became all the rage now they can cost an arm and a leg. Although this place looks decent value

I got that offer curlyone, of course they are small plug plants, but they have done the first bit which is getting the seeds to show and so early on in the year is a good start. I agree that potting on 72 plants was a bit of a nightmare but its horses for courses. There seems to be some stand out companies that don't get mixed reviews, Jersey and VM seem to be the highest rated though.

I agree with several of the comments made above. I am all for supporting the smaller business & there is a certain thrill in going to a garden centre or nursery, there is a buzz and an atmosphere that you don't get online. It can also be slightly lethal for the wallet.

But Brumball has hit the nail on the head, I struggle to get to a garden centre, my nearest is a 45min walk away (I don't have a car) and busses would be an impossible journey, I think its 4 connecting busses each way. If I get to go to one of them its usually in a friends car but thats rare (2-3 times a year). I also have severe joint pains & illness meaning that some days I sleep for upto 15 even 20 hours, my ankles and knees give out or sieze up & I have broken several bones with no explination. If it wasnt for buying some items on the internet I wouldnt have a garden.

I agree with the above comments. Woodlice like sheltered dark spots to hide & live, they don't eat healthy plants, ony clean up dead and decaying material. There must be another culprit.

I do agree with EvergreenQueen, somewhat, I preffer going to a GC but as I don't have a car its not that easy as most of them are out in the sticks. The nearest walking distance on is over a 45 min walk each way so sometimes its a necessity. GG, When I cut back my buddleija earlier in the year it had new growth on it so I have tried to put a bit of rooting hormone onto these buds and poped them into a pot in the coldframe. That was in middle of feb and they are still green and perky so they may have rooted but wont check them for a while. Worth a try.
