I would wager that in Montys pocket there is a piece of string ???? Just in case & a pen knife of course

Well done Monty & James Wong told me what I wanted to know in a way that I understood

I think the over all week was far better than last years well done to the Beeb

I had struggled to find liners for 17" baskets in recent years using weed restrainer off a roll cut to size held in place by clothing pegs until compost was in place to hold it down.

I thought these plastic grill type would be ideal No liners and easy to plant up, which they are but the lower plants get so little water because of rapid leakage from the upper ones

Are well we live & we learn

I kind of think one's with less grill's my prove more successful than the type I have purchased with 12 or so hole's/grills

I have continued to water daily and I still believe the lower down ones appear to be struggling

Still like loads of gardening tips and life in general one learns from ones own experiences

Hey the Polly tunnel in your back gardens a winner in anybodies book. Not sure my neighbours  would be over the moon.

Would one need planning permission for such a structure ??

The type of plant I am using are your general hanging basket flowers, Pansy,Million Bells,Petunia's,Begonia's. nothing flash

You would think the amount of water I have been using on the baskets the water would work it's way down to the windows / plants. But I have not seen anybody else mentioning the fact that it does not in any reiveiws

I will give them the plastic liner treatment next time but it does kind of make the purpose of these type of baskets redundant

Oh just in case we were wondering I also use the water retention crystals but with little or no effect
