lilac tree cuttings

Posted: 21/05/2013 at 17:55

Hi Nikki I have successfully grown two Lilac trees grown from cuttings, I just pulled new shoots off dipped them in rooting powder and potted them up,  I have got these in large pots. As you can see it is flowering very well and the perfume is lovely. I have had them for about 5 years and they flower like this every year.

I still use my Dads garden spade and fork. I can always remember him using them even when I was a child. He has been gone 24 years now and I have no idea how old they are but I treasure them and miss him dreadfully.

I call them sunshine fields because they always look so sunny and bright.

Gardens we have visited 2013

We visited the Keukenhof in Holland in April. It was a beautiful sight to see, so many tulips, just breathtaking, and the perfume from the Hyacinths was just unbelievable.

Hi Gail welcome to the site. I have left the greenfly to the wildlife and have found this works perfectly too, the blue tits do a brilliant job. If you have any questions about plants etc there are some very knowledgeable people on this site to help you out. I have called on their services many times. Hope you have a great time in your garden

Thank you for all your commenst. Its lovely that some of you are seeing swallows, I never see them here which is a shame. The swifts know it is nearly summer, shame the weather doesn't

Communal garden - council keeps destroying our plants

If your flats are private then it would depend who the lease holders are, they could be arranging for the gardens to be cut etc. Or  I would have a word with your local BBC Radio Station and your local newspaper they may be able to do something for you. Hope you get it sorted asap.
