California Blue Bells

In tiny writing lower down on the box it says Triteleia Queen Fabiola, I will be honest I have never heard of these.

They are very similar to crocus bulbs, quite small.

Hi everyone, has anybody ever grown California Blue Bells. I have got about 30 of these little bulbs but I don't know anything about them. Can they be invasive and take over your garden or should I just put them into a pot. Any advise would be greatly apreciated.

propagation boasts and failures

I have taken Salvia Hot Lips cuttings last year and have got three lovely plants to go out in the next few weeks. This week I have taken cuttings of Alstromeria. I bought these lovely plants in Holland last week so hopefully they will grow big and strong. They are all standing up nice and straight and tall at the moment, so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The Swifts are Back

Posted: 08/05/2013 at 17:59

I heard my first scream of swifts today. I have been looking towards the sky for a few days now, knowing that they will soon be back and today I was rewarded with that lovely sound. I always feel that it is the sound of summer even if the weather thinks otherwise. But who cares, because I love watching them and hearing them and I will be doing the swift count for the RSPB later on in the summer.

Still Very Slow

I'm still not getting emails when a response is made to a thread. Is it just me or is this problem still being sorted out.

It is so awful to see all those lovely plants being dumped on the tv last week. I really don't think the GC's will suffer very much, after all they sell much more than just plants which makes me wonder how they can actually call themselves Garden Centres when they are selling ornaments, glassware, crockery and even clothes, which is what the "Garden Centre" near me does. I agree with Sparker, stick to your local Nursery. Keep on giving the good advise Monty, we value it.
