How Tall are your Brussels Sprout

Posted: 02/09/2014 at 19:01

Yes, the Brussels are starting to form nicely. The variety is Evesham Special and on the packet its says "A slightly shorter variety which makes it suitable for the more exposed site". Don't know what's happened but they are definitely not short.

How Tall are your Brussels Sprout

My Brussels Sprout seemed to have taken off like a rocket. I haven't done anything special to them to make them grow but they just seen to be very tall, they haven't even been bothered with Cabbage Whites either.  Here is photo with my husband stood by them, he is 5ft 7in. Has anyone else got tall Brussels or are mine just freakishly tall.

Tomatoes

Posted: 01/09/2014 at 18:23

My tomatoes have been brilliant this year. I sowed the seeds in January in a heated Propagator and I have been picking them since July. I have bottled a lot of them and have got 15 bottles of tomatoes. They have all been grown in a greenhouse in Autopots so they are watered automatically and I have fed them two or three times a week. It has got to be the best crop I have had.

I really love Liver and onions, and if there is liver left over I love it cold in a sandwich. Now I know most will be screwing up their faces and saying yuk, but hey, don't knock it til you've tried it.

Can anyone tell me please when and how to take cuttings of Azalea. I have a lovely Azalea in the garden and we are thinking of moving so I would like to take it with me.

Fuchsia Gall Mite

Posted: 21/06/2014 at 19:01

I have asked about Fuchsia gall mite before on the forum, if you put fuchsia gall mite into search you can see a photo I uploaded before. I did try and pinch out the infected parts but it just kept coming back and I don't like to use chemicals. I did read up on it and it isn't nice. Like you Mike until I had it on my Fuchsias I had never heard of it. All my plants are free of it now, thank goodness.
