I have these in my garden, I originally grew mine from seed and now they are scattered around the front garden. They look so delicate I really love them and they never disappoint.

Well done Flowerchild on your new job, I remember that feeling very well.

Inkadog - your Island sounds lovely, hope you get some warm weather soon, its been lovely in Bournemouth today.

Dean - Sorry you are stuck in a stuffy conference room in this lovely weather, don't worry you will soon be back on your plot enjoying the fresh air.

What's the weather like in your area?

Woohoo!! warm sunny weather at last, its been lovely here today and its still warm this evening. We have all waited so long for some sunshine. When the weather is like this I am so glad I don't have to go to work anymore and sit in a hot office. Really hope this lovely sunny weather continues for a long time, it makes you feel so good.

May In Your Garden

Went out into the greenhouse today and something has eaten my pepper plant, I've got two growing and both were doing really well. Now I have one good one and the other one has just its stalk left. I've sown somemore though, I will not be beaten. The sun didn't last too long here and the clouds soon arrived. Sounds like good weather for next though wooohooo!!

It is a beautiful day here in Bournemouth, the sun is showing its face now and again but it isn't cold. If the weather stays good I am hoping to plant my runners beans and sweetpeas out this week. I have been just itching for the weather to buck its ideas up to be able get outside again. More sunshine pleeeeze!!!

Choosing a greenhouse

Posted: 17/05/2012 at 18:33

As figrat said having a greenhouse is the best thing in the world. I have now got two of them and I love them. I use one for my main growing and the smaller one for harding off. I have only had the second one about 6 weeks and while we were away on holiday  the police had chased a car into our road and the person they were chasing then bailed out of the car and ran down the side of our neighbours house lept over the fence and straight through my greenhouse roof, I was so upset when we got home to see it all twisted and broken with glass everywhere but thankfully my plants survived. My husband has now repaired it so I am up and running again. I spend many happy hours in the greenhouse and I hope you do too, good luck and enjoy.

Sunflowers

Posted: 14/05/2012 at 18:33

This year I have sown Dwarf sunflowers as I want to put them into pots. These don't grow very tall so I hoping they will be ok in pots. I got the seeds from Lidls and they are growing on very well. I usually pot mine into the next size container when they are still seedlings then when they are big enough I put them into their final pots. Good luck.

Holland - Beautiful Tulips

Posted: 14/05/2012 at 18:24

We have just returned from 4 wonderful days in Holland. I have never been before but my husband worked there with a Dutch Flower Company. He took me to the flower auctions and into an area where the public are not allowed. What an amazing time I had, flowers, flowers and more flowers.

This is at the Keukenhof Gardens, beautifully laid out and just full of Tulips.

I brought these back to England, my husband got these 2 buckets of beautiful  Tulips for me from the flower auction there are 100 tulips.
