Lidl have got garden offers on starting on Monday, mini greenhouse, coldfame ect. So glad to hear that you are getting things together and i do hope that you get your things back. Just getting out there and starting to grow things will make you feel better. Well done for being so positive. 

The Return of Gardeners World-8th March

Its great to know that Gardeners World will be back on our screens in March. I agree with Brumbull that it would be nice have more gardening programmes on. It would be nice to Geoff Hamilton again. Obelixx is correct, there was a gardening channel and it was taken off which was a real shame because it was good.

is re-cyling your green bin ,a good thing?

You can buy the compost that our recycling centre makes. I don't buy it because I see what people throw over the wall when I am down there, stuff that shouldn't be going over for garden waste and I really wouldn't want it in my garden. I totally agree Tim, Gardeners world should do more. Geoff Hamilton was just brilliant and always for the Organic side of gardening. I haven't used chemicals in the garden for over 25 years I let the wild life do the job, and damn fine job they do as well. 

sowing seeds in unheated greenhouse

I have started some seeds off but I have got a heated propagator which reall  makes a difference. But before I had one of those I always started mine off on the window cill in the kitchen in small ordinary propagators then when they were ready prick out and pot on into modules I had them in the greenhouse. If it was going to be quite cold I covered them over with horticultural fleece and for me it always work well, I don't know what part of the country you are in, I am on the south coast so not quite as cold as other places though you wouldn't think so today  Brrrrrr! 

Violas or pansies. Which is superior?

I love Violas, they always look so dainty. But, I like Pansies too, I have quite a few panies in my front garden and I must say in their defence that they flower their socks off every year, Even if they do go a bit leggy after a while I just cut them back and off they go again. Now Violas, I also have these in my front garden, and I have to say they look so sweet bobbing in the breeze and yes I have to agree Verdun they are more classy but I can't help it, I love them both

Gardens And Beyond...........

I have popped into Fork Handles now and again,  I don't read it all the time but when I do I really like some of the funny comments on there and how chatty and friendly it is. I feel that everybody on this forum are so nice and give great advice. You always get people that will post everyday but those of us who only post now and again I think are always still made to feel part of this great gardening community.
