Your photos are lovely Marion. I would love to read your writings too, your threads are always so interesting. I think Gardeners World should pay a visit to your garden it is just beautiful.

I have just left a reply on the blog section and it has gone on twice and I don't know why. Also, sometimes the font size goes very very large and when you refresh it is back to normal size. Can anyone help, there is probably a simple explanation.

Talkback: New year gardening resolutions

Posted: 06/01/2014 at 18:44
I am determined to keep on top of the seed sowing. This year I have decided to sow my seeds little earlier than I have done in the past. I have had a lot of jobs indoors to do in the last year or two, so this year I can really concentrate on the garden and I can't wait. I have just ordered some more seeds today, and I get such a buzz that I can soon get out into the garden again and get my hands into the soil.

Here I am complaining again.

Do hope your power stays on Bill. I thought we were having it a bit rough at the moment with gale force winds and pouring rain all day long (I'm in Dorset UK), If you don''t mind I think I will give Canada a miss, if that's all right with you.

Alstromarea

I've got Alstroemeria in pots and they have been outside for the last 4 years, I don't put them in a cold frame or greenhouse and they have flowered every year, I even had flowers on Christmas Day. Mine are still flowering.

Dahlias

Yes, I am still picking flowers and there are quite a few buds still to come. Thank you for your advise.

Dahlias

This is the first time I have grown Dahlias and mine are in the ground. Should I lift mine now or leave them until the first frost (I'm in Dorset). The gardeners world "what to do now" says after the first frost. I don't want to loose them as they have been just beautiful and I am now hooked on them.

Northern Ontario Canada snow

I live in Dorset UK and the council here go into panic mode when we have just a few flakes of snow. I don't think they would cope here if we had we had snow like that. Here is what we had coming back from Scotland in March, hardly anything at all compared to what you get Bil.
