Oooh, what a bargain!!!!  I'd rather have a mulberry than a Kilmarnock willow any day.

Lucky lucky you

Green cherry tomato

I've topped my outdoor tomatoes now ... so they concentrate on the trusses that are already formed ... but I wouldn't remove any flowers.

There's loads of time for your tomatoes  to ripen ... they'll carry on until the first frosts.  Patience

Dying Roses

Have you recently moved to this garden?  The soil around your roses looks very poor and sour ... signs of moss and algae on the soil and rose stump and blackspot on the leaves and stems.

The young growth may well have been damaged by the over-application of spray, particularly in bright sunlight.

The soil in this garden needs lots of mulching with organic matter to get it back into good heart.

Is my pear tree sick?

What proportion of the tree leaves look like those in your photo?

Can we see a pic of the whole tree?

Scrub clearance

Then I'd get someone in with a bushwhacker to take the top off everything but leave about 12" of growth

give it a few days until you see fresh growth then spray with a brushwood killer containing glyphosate ... leave it for four weeks or until all growth is brown and dead

then get the mini-digger in to clear the dead stumps away.

As has been said ... not a job to be rushed ... after clearing there'll be weed seeds sprouting ... they'll need spraying off too

I don't think you'll be sowing anything until the spring if you're wise

NO!   Please don't do that!  The caterpillar is on the ground because it is ready to pupate and is looking for a place with the right conditions. It knows what it needs.

It does not need to be in a jam jar!

Good practice is to leave wildlife alone if it is healthy and not in danger.
