Is it Ok to keep picking rhubarb

My other half makes sloe gin each year; he freezes the sloes overnight to make it easier to break the skins and, having learnt the trick from the person who won last year's sloe gin tasting competition (of 14 entries or so), freezing also gives a better flavour!

I must admit I tend to use boiling water to remove the nests as it doesn't harm the grass and gets rid of the problem.

Why not get something that is spectacular around thee date of your pet's death, to cheer you up and remember the good times? Or something that smells great like sarcococca which smells of honey in Jan-Feb?

I read somewhere that slugs live for around 5 years and just travel back if you chuck them over the fence (I have woodland beyond my fence!) so I go 'slug-hunting' at night with the old headtorch and trowel for halving and digging back into the ground as compost. I have noticed a reductionover the years in the population, but it is hard on my back as it is quite engrossing once you get going!
