My hanging baskets are beginning to look a little sad. If I trim them back will they throw new blooms? Most of the plants are sufinas.

I buy my seeds in. Have bought two different types of compost Petersfield multi purpose and John Innes soil based. I will try again and see what happens.

I have been growing my flowers using the same method for years. Sowing seeds in pots, placing on window sills .then transplanting into trays when seedlings are large enough. The only seeds that i can get to germinate this year are Morning Glory. Any thoughts at what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

Prickly visiters.

I have grown strawberrys for many years on my allotment and always cover the bed with nets when the fruit start to redden. Last Friday a hedgehog had got tangled, rolled up in a ball in the net, so I cut it loose, put it in a safe place and released it. Sat and Sun morning exactly the same. Hedgehog tangled in net in the same place. Cut it free and released it. Today, surprise, surprise, hedgehog trapped again, only this time he had brought a mate. Cut them both free from the nets. Removed nets.

I have acquired some fish, blood and bone fertiliser. Can I sprinkle it around runner beans and other veg plants?
