Thanks for the info everyone,i googled golden rod when you mentioned that it may be that nutcutlet, and the leaves look the same, so will leave it until it flowers,then will post a pic.many thanks again.xx

Hi, could anyone tell me what this plant is. Its just popped up from nowhere. i have bought numerous perennials and shrubs in the last two years but can,t remember this one, is it a weed?Its about three feet tall. I am only a novice gardener so please excuse my ignorence,many thanks Elizabeth.

Just had another look at it, and i can see some tiny new shoots coming , so will wait and see how they do,if they also go brown then i will have have a look at the roots to see if there is a problem there.So fingers crossed it might pick up..Will also stop feeding it so much, dont want to kill it with kindness lol! Many thanks to you both for your good advice.x

Could anyone tell me what is wrong with my Star Jasmine. The leaves are turning brown and falling off, even the small amount of new growth it has put on has turned brown. I bought it two and a half years ago, and its in a large pot against a wall where it is sheltered from harsh winds.I feed it fortnightly in the spring with Tomorite which usually encourages it to put on lots of new growth.but nothing i do seems to be working, its looking a very sorry site.It has always looked very healthy up until this Spring. do you think its the awful weather we have been having that has caused this. Have uploaded a couple of pics.for you to see. Any advice would be apreciated, many thanks Elizabeth.

Hi, hope someone can help. My jasmine star leaves are turning brown and dropping off. even the new growth has turned brown and dropped off. Ihave it in a large pot against a wall. I bought it two years ago and it has been fine until this year although it has only ever had a few flowers but the leaves were always healthy looking. I fed it fortnightly last spring with Tomorite and it produced lots of new growth,have done the same this year but to no avail,have cut it back a bit,but nothing seems to be working.Do you think the bad weather has caused this or should i have a look at the roots to see if it has been infested. many thanks Elizabeth.

Oh crikey! now i am confused lol! perhaps it is a honysuckle,i bought so many plants last year,i do remember buying a honeysuckle and a clematis, and i lost one of them,thought it was the honeysuckle i lost. On closer inspection it does look more like honeysuckle leaves.Will soon know when it flowers. Told you i was a novice haha!. Oh well, we live and learn.Thank you all for all your help.Should i just feed it with a general fertiliser? Kind regards Elizabeth.
