Pampas grass

We inherited it with our new home and cut it right down around April to help its growth h& grow it did but never it never opened... could it be the variety as we dont know exactly what it is.  I will try & attach a picture...

Thanks Chrissie, we have some farm manure to mix into the soil first and bonemeal to help the roots, i just thought that perhaps some trees partnered by best with others, but it sounds like it really doesn't matter what sits next to what.

We have a few fruit trees to put in the ground and then hopefully watch them grow over the coming years. Just wondering if there is any particular order we should plant them in? Snow Quen Nectarine, Victoria Plum & Turkey Fig trees. Any recommendations greatly appreciateda!
