What is this shrub? .....

I have a variegated one in my garden too which, like Ladybird4's, had been just beautiful this year. Definitely recommend!  Gather they're quite easy to propagate as well.

Enjoy it while it lasts Dave! I'm sure we'll make the most of the lovely weather when it arrives here in the normally balmy east 😊

Am also shivering here in Essex! Toms & squash planted out last week, just hope they're patient enough to wait for warmer days & still produce lots of lovely veg ☺

Thanks everyone for your ideas ☺  I particularly like the sound of the Ameliancher. Time to do a bit more research!

Ideas for small tree

Hi all, We're looking to plant a small tree in our garden ideally no higher than about 15ft at maturity. It would be in quite a focal point of the garden, sunny & open site but relatively sheltered.  Anyone have any suggestions?

What have they done to this site!! It's really put me off using it. Such a disappointment. Come on GW, sort it out!

French lavender

I planted three french lavender plants at the beginning of the summer.  They all had beautiful flowers at the start so I was looking forward to seeing them flowering all summer long.  Sadly they have not flowered for the last couple of months - am a little baffled as to why.  I live in a very dry part of the country so had thought this would suit lavender.   Any ideas for how to prolong the flowering would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks everyone for your advice! I think I'll try growing them in a shadier spot next year as they have been exposed to full sun this time. The joys of gardening - always a learning curve however long you've been doing it!

Thanks, maybe that's the case!  it has been very dry in our neck of the woods.
