Weather's bad

I'm sad

One day soon

Maybe no more gloom

But for now

I'm glad

I have an iPad

Yes, Chiltern seeds have a wonderful selection, don't they?

Thanks for that, Punkdoc. I'm a great fan of Monty Don, but have only read his newspaper articles. Just had a browse through the Ivington Diaries, and it looks enchanting - as you say, beautifully written, eloquent and reflective.
I think I'll have to treat myself!

I think propagation's quite easy from leaf cuttings, so that's minimal disruption to the plant, and I do have a tiny pond, so maybe I'll try that Derek.

Ooh, lovely. You've reminded me to take a walk along a nearby stream, the field's quite boggy and wild cardamines thrive there. No chance of growing them in my garden, the soil's like dust.

Hoping to get the last of the three raised beds in place today. Off to get wrapped up in 3 layers...again!

Maybe they've gone a bit deeper than you were digging because of the foul weather?

I'm growing them for the first time this year, and have some first earlies happlily chitting away. I'm thinking that if I plant them quite deep (which won't be a problem for me as my soil's ridiculously light and free draining) they will be insulated a bit because they'll be nearer the centre of the earth.

Well feel like it's been a productive day...topped up the 2 new raised beds with a dumpy bag's worth of topsoil which I riddled. Transplanted some kale in preparation for the final raised bed.

Overwintered runner bans

Left the roots in after clearing last year's crop, they've survived the winter and putting up new growth.
