Ab fab...when they ripen! They're a potato leafed beefsteak variety - had a couple last year which weighed nearly a kilo each.

@ Jo - am trying not to open greenhouses at all at the moment, in a vain attempt to ripen tomatoes.

That looks really sore...ouch! I'm a very fair skinned redhead, and spent most of my childhood in HongKong. One weekend, I went on a school trip to one of the outlying islands, and my mother forgot to pack my suncream. When I got home, my whole back was one huge blister.
Nothing less than factor 50 for me now.

I like 'Marvel of the four seasons' which is described as a butterhead type, and, as the name suggests, does well through the year.
