Hostas/slugs

Posted: 15/08/2014 at 15:41

I had a similar problem last year with slugs and hostas disappearing

this year I invested in two treatments of nematodes (available from ebay and amazon and other outlets)

so far my hostas have been left alone and see very few slugs or snails apart from the occasional one that comes from the neighbours garden

At the bottom of my Garden I have a large Hedge

Which has partially blown over in the high wind see pictures

the hedge I have been told is decades old and inside the hedge is the original lap fence as you can see in the pictures

I am looking advice on how I can repair/secure the hedge the last thing I want to do is remove the hedge as the cost is beyond my small gardening budget

and it acts as security barrier to the rear of the property

any ideas people?

if you put the picture on ISPOT someone will identify it for you

you will then get a beeter idea on how to eradicate it from your lawn

Hi

I have also used the nematodes remedy and this seems to have cut down the slug population as well

Hi

I recently purchased some organic slug pellets from a well known auction site which are made of sheeps wool

and they work a treat and are non toxic as well

Slug Gone Wool Pellets

hope this helps
