Depends what you are intending to plant and where you are going to keep it. But if you are thinking of things like petunias and are going to put it outside, then it is far too early. A heated greenhouse would be ok though

Goldfish don't work very well in a 'wildlife pond' they tend to eat the wildlife

It works out much better value for money to buy magazines such as Grow Your Own or Kitchen Garden and get the free seeds that come with those. I haven't had to buy any beetroot seeds for this year
What about learning about hoverflies too? I'm amazed how many people see a hoverfly and think it's a wasp!
