Morning everyone!

Up early (for me) but busy dealing with this and that and now two hours have gone by! Paving people will finish today - doing the pointing as we speak. Dogs were funny this morning, one walked down and around all the slabs, another walked round them and wouldn't tread on them!

Forecast yesterday seemed to be saying sunny intervals everywhere except here

Have fun, whatever you're up to

Neither looks like Choisya - I was chopping chunks off a rampant one yesterday and the leaves are not quite the same shape. Choisya also has quite a powerful smell when cut or leaves broken - not sure how to describe it, though.  Is the back one some sort of perennial? The leaves are rather low to the ground for a shrub.

Morning Bunnyzzzzzzzzz and welcome Shadoweaver.

Had to google Gedling to find out where three days of sunshine has happened!

Like you, Adam, I'm itching to get planting. I have several shrubs that appear to have survived the winter in pots that are going in as soon as I get my garden back

Morning Liz. You're so right about the difference the sun makes! Onwards and upwards as Eric thingy on GQT says

Morning one and all.

Sunny again, though it may not last the day this time. Workmen have just unloaded cement mixer, floomper thingy and other bits of kit. Looking forward to see some paved areas completed later

Interesting comments from Verdun yesterday about being nice to hellebores - I might try it myself.

Bjay, certainly toms and peppers, probably aubergines too. I tried butternut squash last year and got as far as small green ones but lack of warmth and sun did for them in the end. I filled 5 yesterday from one standard growbag.

Hello Jo, sounds as if you have achieved a lot today.

Yes, of course. It's a self watering system with a reservoir tank and then two, four, or in my case six pots in little stands. Bit pricey to set up but once you've got them you've got them! An absolute boon for an erratic waterer like me

Have just enjoyed sitting in unheated conservatory for the first time this year! The sun makes such a big difference. Couldn't believe temp. in GH was 28*C, lucky I've only got a couple of cacti and a citrus tree in there. Got round to sowing some seeds today - 6 tomatoes, I only need two or three in the autopots in the GH so decided to be sensible.

Afties all. Still not that warm but it's nice in the sun.

Bjay, good to hear your foot is possibly signed off , bummer that it's an age thing - like my neck, have to learn to live with it

Workmen are doing a tidy job so far. Sadly having to let them dump a load of lovely topsoil as I have nowhere for it  One of them is able to use some of it in his front garden but it's such a shame not to have a good home for the rest.

Right, off to garden, don't want to waste the sunshine.

Liz, there will indeed be piccies though I can't say it will ever be 'done'!  Will be seeking advice and ideas on what will go with the plants I have already bought to put in.
