Audio sensory planting Ideas.

My favourite rustling sound is of beech trees and hedges especially when the leaves have turned brown. However, this may not be a practical suggestion for you. I only have one grass but I haven't noticed a great deal of rustling.

As must be the hedgehogs with all the sluggy bounty - though I didn't see them at all last night.

Lucky you, I haven't seen bullfinches for years. They are so beautiful. I'm thrilled that Mr Thrush has been singing fit to burst all morning at the top of my flowering cherry.

Depending where they are you might need to consider constructing a fruit cage around them next year because there is nothing more disappointing than watching your fruit swell and ripen, waiting for the perfect moment to pick then going out and finding ONE gooseberry left!

It's grizzly here but I was mightily cheered by Mr Thrush singing his heart out from the top of my ancient and overgrown flowering cherry. I listened and watched for a while then went shopping and walked the dogs, when I returned he was there again - or maybe still there. I can hear him now :- )

What's the weather like in your area?

Dogs got afternoon walk but proper raining here now - have just put soggy chickens away. It's bloomin' nippy out there.

That reminds me, my car's due for its annual MOT clean out. Must phone Dr-Geoff-who-welds-things-on-the-bits-that-fail and book it in.

I passed on practical stuff like changing tyres, failed woefully on anything to do with tidiness.

Brightening up a bit here - there was a faint shadow just now.

Geoff - what a kind thought, I have so few similar pleasures. Seeing you arrive with your y fronts over your trousers would be a comparable delight ;- )
